Le Marche is a region that must be seen with great curiosity for its infinite variety, in the eleven valleys that cross it and that will make feel out of time and space. The trip is made of paths anyone can choose between rural landscapes and natural parks, through thousands of years of history, as evidenced by the many archaeological remains or by monuments in Romanesque and Gothic style, still intact in some rare places, till the Renaissance style that has its greater expression in the city of Urbino. This region is not only identified for the art as we normally mean it, but also for the art of cooking, which is becoming more diversified as the variety of dialects. Famous are in fact the “stuffed and fried olives” typical of Ascoli Piceno, the thin “macaroni” of Campofilone, “Carpegna's ham”, “ciauscolo salami” of Visso, “Fabriano's salami”, cheese in all its variations, the “mushrooms”, the precious “white truffle” of Montefeltro, base of typical dishes of places like St. Agatha Feltria Acqualagna, Sant'Angelo in Vado, the “vincisgrassi” appreciated since '700, the “bostrengo” typical Christmas cake with dried fruit, chocolate and honey. Along the coast lives instead the tradition of “brodetto” (seafood soup) in Pesaro area or “codfish” in Ancona. All this accompanied with 11 d. o. c. wines: from Verdicchio of Jesi's Castles and Matelica, to the Bianchello del Metauro, to the Esino, to the Colli Pesaresi, to the Falerio of Ascoli's hills, to the Rosso Piceno, or the Rosso Conero, to the Vernaccia and the Lacrima of Morro d'Alba.
